Susan is the sole director of Ads-Plan Limited; she is a Town Planner and graduate of Manchester University. She has been a Planning Consultant since 1981 and has run her own Town Planning Consultancy since 1990. She is a well known planning professional both within the UK and internationally. She is currently a national delegate with the International Society of City and Regional Planners and has represented the UK at the organisation's annual congress at Istanbul and Antwerp. She recently attended a workshop conducted by DCLG concerning the Draft National Planning Policy Framework. Her views on the document were included in an article in the Sunday Times (2nd October 2011 edition). Waste Management issues and Public Rights of Way are other areas of expertise.

Her planning skills and experience are significant, providing expert advice on all aspects of the planning system throughout the UK. She is one of the leading authorities within the UK on outdoor advertisement control and presents papers on the subject. She is also regularly called upon to give professional evidence at Public Inquiries and is a member of the Institute of Expert Witnesses.
